Villa gallo-romaine de Séviac (museum)

Daily in season

A fourth-century Gallo-Roman country house with some six hundred square metres of floor mosaic lying exactly where it was laid, under a shelter built over it in 2018, plus its own bath suite and underfloor heating. The tourist office calls it the largest such survival in France; take that with salt, but the scale is not in doubt. It is one third of Elusa Capitale Antique, a three-site Gallo-Roman ensemble — the town house and the archaeological museum are both at Éauze. Over an hour each way, so make a day of it with Condom.
