Tour de Termes-d'Armagnac (château)

All year, closed Tuesdays

What remains of a mid-13th-century Gascon castle is its tower: thirty-six metres of it, with a platform at the top and the Pyrenees across the southern horizon. The tourist office attaches Thibault, a lord of Armagnac, to the place as 'a loyal companion of Joan of Arc' — their association, passed on as such — and calls this the only medieval site open all year. It closes on Tuesdays.
